In June 2018, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board introduced a Plastic Ban in the state. The Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science welcomed this drive and actively contributed in the same. On 28th and 29th June 2018, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit initiated a plastic ban in the college premises. The NSS In-charge Prof. Shabab Rizvi and volunteers visited every class of the college. They replaced college’s old identity card plastic cover with the high-quality cover for all the students of PCACS.
Plastic is non-biodegradable and extremely hazardous to the environment. They’re one of the major reasons for the filthy garbage that is caused in our society. The NSS Unit has always been working for the betterment of the society and environment. It has successfully carried out social activities like the literacy drive for underprivileged students, tree plantation, awareness about saving the environment, etc.
